Speed Bumps and Uphill Battles

This past week has been a real pain in the backside - an emotional rollercoaster and exhausting. I have been feeling sick or on the verge of getting sick and feeling run down. I have spent a lot of time looking for work and worrying and stressing. I didn't get in as much biking as the previous week. Only 62 2/3 miles in 3.5 hours - I also took a long break from riding and just got back on the bike again for an hour yesterday.

Weight loss last week was around 3 pounds but it all came back and I am reloosing the same weight again this week. It stinks but it is normal, the body does its thing to normalize things all the time and it will come off again soon. Looking forward to riding the bike this evening to blow off some stress and steam.

Weather is looking good for swimming soon and I spent some time getting the pool ready for swimming season on Saturday and even got in the pool - it was cold getting in but very nice afterwards and not chilly at all. 11 yr old scouts are coming over this evening to use the pool to pass off swimming reqs for rank advancement.

I want to thank the 2 newest contributors to my fund raiser - I know who you are and I thank you sincerely!

Had a few job interviews this week (last week I was hired part time at Wal-mart but no word on the results of my drug test - cross your fingers). I interviewed for a programming position and for a Level III Operations position with Wells Fargo. I have an interview lined up with Dish Network this Friday for a call center position.

Last Week in Review

It's time to take a glance at what has happened in the past week.

I will try to keep this brief.

I lost 6 lbs in the last week for a total loss of 158 lbs. Today is my 6 month "surgiversary" and my weight loss in the 6 months is 135 lbs. I have 82 lbs till I reach my goal weight of 185 lbs.

For my stationary bike I rode a little more than 5 1/2 hours for more than 92 miles.

I also had a special moment when I was able to purchase a smaller pant size. Size 42. Last size I bought prior to that was my jeans and they are a 46. My beginning pant size was a tight 60 back in October.

I will call this week a success. Not all weeks are this successful. Thanks for following along and for your words of support.

Relieving Stress and Going the Extra Mile

Well I was being a real bear-cat today, barking and growling at the kids. Negative stress doesn't sit well with me I supposed.

So at about 4 PM today I decided to hop in the stationary bike and go for a ride. Sorry no can do - batteries ran out. So I drove to the store and bought some replacement D batteries. I started riding around 4:30 and I rode and rode and rode. I rode the furthest distance I have ridden to date and for the longest time. I finished 40 miles in 2 hours 24 mins and 50 seconds. Even though it has been almost 2 hours and a shower later I can still feel the calories burning in the ol' factory. Rachel says I am gonna be up all night now - lol.

According to fitday.com at my current weight I burned about 2,200 calories in that butt wrenching ride - that is right it may be TMI but that bike seat is a violator and after an hour it is extremely uncomfortable. I feel I could have ridden far more than the 40 miles if that seat wasn't kicking my trash for the last hour and a half of the ride. I can't wait till I have a road bike that is fitted for my body, it will be so much more comfortable. Till then I enjoy the benefits of the exercise. I am definitely out of the 2 week stall as I have lost weight for 3 days straight. I love getting on the scale first thing in the morning and seeing the weight come off!
